EVERY DAY'S A HOLIDAY.....

.... but now and again it's fun to do what other people do on bank holidays - and go out somewhere you don't usually go.

We tried to go to the fair on Hamstead Heath but couldn't get parked so we headed into Covent Garden - and couldn't get parked there either. Being the intrepid travellers that we are (!) we went back to Euston, parked there, and got a train to Covent Garden - determined to enjoy some free entertainment on the streets.
I'd decided, because of the intended destination, not to take my camera with me so could only rely on the one built into my phone. So these aren't the best quality photos but they'll give you the essence of the fun to be had for nothing in the centre of London on a warm and sunny day:

The first act we came across turned out to be a magician friend of ours, Lee Hathaway, who also runs a magic stall there.

The next act was quite strange as this guy, a juggler, persuaded loads of children to lay on their backs head to feet with each other along three sides of a square (on a red carpet, no concrete messing their clothes and all very proper). He then did his act, every now and then returning to check that the kids hadn't moved, until he reached the end - whereupon he walked on his hands straddling the children who got up as he passed by in some sort of weird Mexican wave!

The final two guys we watched were very funny in both word and deed. They juggled balls, umbrellas and other assorted articles ending with this amazing unicycle spectre.

Then supper in Chinatown and home to bed!
