AMSTERDAM - REVISITED
For Rob's 60th Birthday present we went back to Amsterdam with our good friends Brian and David. We left England...
and arrived in the land of bicycles...
We had leisurely breakfasts and visited somewhere different every day... sometimes travelling on canal boats:
Sometimes by tram:
We only had one day when it rained a little:
We spent an afternoon of fun and photos at Madame Tussauds...
We had a very new and arty bedroom...
And had some great meals with great company:
I was just so delighted when Rob told me 'This was the best Birthday present I've ever ever had!'
We can't wait to go back there - hopefully with the same good company too?

What fun it all was!
How can we NOT go back when there's so much we haven't tried - like cycling... AND those peddleboats for four on the canal which, personally, I was very keen to have a go on --- only to be, very sadly, outnumbered! ;-)
OK, OK, maybe we won't try cycling.... and maybe the pedalboats wouldn't work for us....
But what about the love seats in the Tuchinski Film Theatre which you were so keen to visit but we couldn't find a film we all wanted to see?
And what about the Rijksmuseum once they've finished the renovations?
And what about getting a meal at Boom Chicago - when this time a gas leak stopped them serving hot food?
And what about.... all those restaurants we didn't get to eat in?
You can't tell me there's nothing left to do....
I'm sitting here at Heathrow, so where are YOU?
Oh, yes,and David will be here soon -- or as soon as he wakes up!! ;-)
OK - OK - well maybe not quite today.... I need to save up a bit of money first.... (
